Leptodes bicolor

Easy to grow small pendulous species with very compact pencil-shaped leaves and large –for the size of the plant– white flowers with a magenta lip. The flower shape is reminiscent of a claw while it opens. A good little orchid for windowsills or under lights with intermediate to warm temperatures. Of note, the seedpods are used to flavor ice cream in Brazil. Morning fragrance similar to that of a brassavola.
