Neofinetia falcata ‘Hokage’

Neofinetia falcata Hokage 火影, also known as Fire Shadow, is a famous tiger stripe variety with a rare and beautiful combination of 3-color variegation and ruby-red root tips. During the growing season its leaves exhibit scarlet pink, yellow and white tiger stripes on green and this specimen also has a navy stripe along the center of its oldest leaves. Variegation, and especially the color red, are more pronounced on new leaves in the summer months. This orchid is a natural work of art to be enjoyed year after year as the variegation pattern changes from one year to the next. Very expensive and prized when it was first introduced in Japan, plants are now reproduced from seed and are becoming more affordable. A stunning cultivar well-worth its place in a special Neo collection. The blooms are white gently touched by blush and wonderfully fragrant. Displayed in a traditional Japanese hand-painted Neofinetia pot for the photo op.
