Neofinetia falcata ‘Tamakongo’

A very attractive dwarf variety of the japanese Samurai orchid or Fuukiran (風蘭). The foliage is shorter and fuller than common Neofinetias and forms handsome stocky clumps. It is referred to as ‘bean-leaf’. The short inflorescence bears star-shaped flowers that are upward facing and have short nectar spurs. This orchid has about 6 years of growth and is potted in a sphagnum moss mount in the traditional japanese style. Beautiful sweet jasmine-like fragrance, that is especially strong at night.
