Amesiella monticola

A very compact species with large (for the size of the plant), pure white flowers complemented by a long spur. Blooms winter or early spring under similar light conditions as those of Phalaenopsis but prefers intermediate temperatures. It thrives in a small terra cotta pot with well-draining sphagnum and coarse bark, replaced every two years. Native from the Philippines, this orchid is unfortunately considered critically endangered by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
